Plastic Bag Card Holder

In this 2-hour session, participants will learn how to transform used plastic bags into durable fabric sheets — then cut, prototype, and stitch them into unique card holders or mini carriers. This workshop combines sustainability with creativity, introducing basic pattern making and hand-stitching skills while giving new life to plastic waste.

It’s zero waste, fully customisable, and surprisingly chic.

In this workshop, participants will:

• Learn how to layer and fuse plastic bags using heat to create a custom sheet
• Cut and design a basic card holder or pouch template
• Practise simple hand-stitching and construction techniques
• Personalise their creation with colour layering and pattern placement
• Understand the value of reuse through hands-on design
• Leave with a functional, fashionable, and fully upcycled creation

What's Included:

• All materials provided: used plastic bags, iron, thread, needles
• Participants are encouraged to bring their own clean plastic bags to recycle into the project
• Take-home: 1 finished card holder or mini carrier
