Upcycled Accessories

Perfect for sewing beginners and eco-enthusiasts alike, this hands-on workshop with Crafty Summer will teach you how to create beautiful, unique pieces of accessories using upcycled materials such as aluminium cans and beverage cups. 

In this workshop, participants will learn about the benefits of upcycling and how to transform aluminium cans and beverage cups into earrings, hair clips, brooches or rings through basic sewing techniques.

In this workshop, participants will:

• Understand the environmental benefits of upcycling.
• Explore creative ways to repurpose everyday waste into accessories.
• Learn about different types of recyclable materials and their properties.
• Identify suitable upcycled materials (e.g., aluminum cans, beverage cups, plastic tubes).
• Use basic sewing tools: needles, thread, pliers, scissors, and adhesives.
• Experiment with layering and embellishments (beads, fabric, metal details).
• Learn proper cleaning and maintenance of upcycled accessories.

What's Included:

• Punched sequins from beverage cups, aluminium cans and food packaging to make a ring, hair clip or earrings
• Beads
• All necessary crafting tools and materials
